  Dina being born as a ghost, Danny and Cecelia were faced with the hard decision to have her raised in the Ghost Zone, as the human world had continued to fear ghosts, even after the events of Phantom Planet. A witch hunt of sorts had begun, in which ghosts were "shredded" if they were caught. Being the only ghost Danny trusted with his daughter, Clockwork was asked to raise her in the ghost zone. After Clockwork and Dina had entered the Ghost Zone, Danny, with a heavy heart, destroyed the portal, knowing that leaving it functional would only endanger his family.
  Dina spent her first fifteen years in the Ghost Zone as "Tempest" thanks to her unique electric ghost powers. Per Clockwork's request, she used these powers for vigilantism, to combat Poltergeist, a growing mafia lead by Walker, who aimed to maintain order through, if necessary, violent means.
   After attracting "unhealthy" attention from Poltergeist, Dina escapes into the human world through a portal that for some reason, Walker couldn't follow.
   It would later be discovered that the portal had been an experimental model built by Jack Fenton, which would only respond to Fenton DNA, leaving Dina with the stunning realization that she was the daughter of the legend: Danny Phantom. But one question burned in her mind. "Could she live up to the legend?"
